not implant related...... Tummy tuck

those that have had a tummy tuck how bad is it??? would you say it's better to stay close to home to have it done? my boobie doc is 3 1/2 hours away. I really want to use him though but scared to be that far away.

  • I used Dr Davis at Davis & Pyle and he was two 1/2 hours away from our home. I did my research and wanted the best!  I am very happy with my decision. My advice is that you use the doctor you are most comfortable with. I had access to the D&P nurses for all my questions. The distance wasn’t an issue for me.

As far as recovery, not gonna lie, it’s something that demands time and rest. But again, so totally worth it!

    hope this helps you!

MommaJ thank you. I worry about the distance because of the follow ups. my husband will only be able to take a week off. I plan to do it when my kids are out of school for summer. they are 14, 8, and 2. I worry about them as well. my 2 year old he's a hand full.

  • To be 100% honest..it was waaay harder than I thought it would be. I have had 3 c-sections so I thought it would be easy..haha. The incisions weren't painful, but my body and back were just so sore and miserably uncomfortable until about day 12. My Dr is 1.5hrs away. I did go back at 1dpo for a check, which I vaguely remember. (Still drugged up) then again at 2wpo. I am 16 days post op now and still not standing 100% straight. I still get tired/winded easily. Just allow yourself time to rest throughout the day and plan on a 2 to 3wk initial recovery.

Marigold Airplane the good thing is if I use the doctor that did my boobs, they have overnight surgery suites and I have to stay there the night after the surgery. I don't know it's just scary to be so far away if something happens.

  • My surgeon was an hour and half... i slept through whole time and felt no pain! I think you’ll be fine.

  • Love this thread... I’m getting a mini TT w BA 6dec. I’m mentally preparing for the worst but hoping for the best! I’ve research that 2 DPO is the worst and people question their decision but then review I saw they end up happy and that it was worth it! We rented me a medical recliner from a medical supply store  to help stand up and sleep! Hoping it helps!
