Best 9 Day Post-Op Bra?!

I’m sure this has been asked a million times, so forgive me for asking - but I’m panicking about finding the right bra to wear post op. I’m 9 days post op from a lift with 200cc implants. My original surgical bra has gotten much too loose and my surgeon simply said “wear a bra that’s comfortable and supportive with no underwires”. Right now I’m wearing Simply Warner’s wireless easy does it bra (pictured), and it’s comfortable, but I’m just terrified that I’ll do something to make these beauties heal incorrectly. Is that possible? Does anyone have any other suggestions for bras that they used and loved?

  • If your PS cleared you to wear a comfortable bra of your choice, the one you are wearing in your pic looks great. If you would feel better in a post op compression bra, my favorite is The Ava by Carefix and is available on Amazon. If you google Carefix bras you will be able to find the sizing chart. It’s a front zip adjustable bra that is super soft and comfy while still providing compression and support.

Ray I found that the "Ava" by Carefix high compression post-op bra fits true to size and is very comfortable. I downsized from a 36DDD/34F to a 36D. I purchased the 36 D-F. The only thing that I will warn you is that there is a small learning curve in zipping it up. I found that it was easier to zip it first to the second hook, do the second hook, finish zipping and then go back and do the very first hook. Once I figured this out, it was a breeze. If you don't want to hassle with the zipper/hook-and-eye config on this bra go with the Leonisa front closure bra - I found it true to size and also comfortable. Leonisa 011473 (36D): https://www.leonisa.com/en/products/posture-corrector-wireless-back-support-bra/ You can buy 2 for $79.99 or try coupon code CANDY15. Using this code I paid $38.25 for 1 bra with free shipping.

  • As long as you're not working out or putting stress on them, you're fine. Once you're cleared for exercise, make sure to get a nice supportive sports bra. This one was highly recommended in this group and I love it.

In the interim, if the bra you're wearing is uncomfortable, I bit the bullet and bought the RX bra (you can Google it) and it is  HANDS DOWN the most comfy bra I own.

  • I have the exact bra you're wearing and I find it even comfier than the RX bra.

  • I found this bra at Pink, it’s not padded or anything, but it’s a good everyday type bra. It’s similar to the one that I was given after surgery, but more comfortable. I got 375/405cc and got a size large. I could have done medium, but I was worried it would be too type once I drop and fluff.

  • Should the post op bra have some compression or not?

  • My surgeon told me that most of her patients love the Hanes T-shirt bra. They are only $12.99 on Amazon! I’m planning on trying one of these before I spend too much on other bras! I’m just over a week PO and have my follow up next week so I’ll report back how I like the bra :) Still wearing the ugly one they sent me home in! 😂

  • The bra I was sent home in hurt soooo much. It was way too tight on the bustline. I have lots of bruising in that area now, more from the bra than the surgery I think. The doctor said I could wear any wireless bra or even no bra if I want. But I’m just not a “no-bra” kinda girl yet. So, I switched over to a sports bra the 2nd day, then to a tank with a shelf bra the 3rd day, and a bralette the 4th day. I’ve just been switching it up because the bruising still hurts a lot when I continue to wear one thing  for too long.

I ordered some bras online that should arrive soon. I ordered a longline recovery/sleep bra from Kohl’s, so I’m interested to try that out. Today I placed an order for an assortment of VS wireless bras, bralettes & sports bras. Who knows if I ordered the right sizes or not!! 😂
