Revision

I sought out a second opinion and the plastic surgeon who saw me today agrees that I should NOT have received UHP  implants. I am THRILLED he is willing to do a revision. He plans to to go with a slightly wider base, and lower profile and thus, ccs. I’m nervous however because he said he is willing to do it anytime (now). He said I don’t have to wait- I am currently almost 3 months post op as of July 26th. He also said I don’t have to take 6 weeks off work (I am a nurse who works at a pediatric hospital and lifts patients anywhere from 10-40 lbs. Does this seem ok?

  • It does sound correct.  Your pocket is in place so you won't have to take off as much time for recovery.  Earliest I would do is 3 months to allow that pocket to form.  But it's not an exact science--10 vs 12 vs 14 weeks.  Seems like you have a good feeling and I have learned to trust that.  Best of luck!

Dr. Michelle Roughton thanks for your response! I’m so glad to hear that! What do you think about the weight lifting/ limitations afterward?

    • Juliane I am cautious with this especially if you have to have pocket work done. The more than muscle (pectorals) is pushing down and out, the more strain against your internal sutures.  I would say at least 4 weeks before you do a lot of chest weights, push ups, and planks.  But check with your surgeon too as he is the one who will know what work he had to do in there.

Dr. Michelle Roughton thank you. I don’t plan on working out that soon, just being at my job as a pediatric nurse that has to pick up and carry babies, Toddlers, move instrument trays and do patient transfers- if that is ok. Thanks again for answering my questions!
