Wrong implants

How soon can I have an exchange? I had my revision yesterday and looking at my implant card, I was given Natrelle Responsive implants instead of the soft touch. I know my surgeon will try to convince me to wait it out but this is not ok.

  • Oh no!!!  Maybe it's a mistake on the card?

Any time it could be done.  You'll want to recover from teh anesthesia so maybe 3-5 days at the earliest.

I would be honored to see you at my office in Raleigh, NC!

Dr. Michelle Roughton Thank you. I have spoken to his nurse who tried to convince me that the implants were correct and I need to wait 6 months for the end results.  I asked her to reference back to my signed approved documents and that this was a revision so I am aware of the fluff & dropp and will not wait. I am waiting for the surgeon to contact me. Any advice on how I may push him to exchange them as soon as possible?

    • Carmen Waleska I would just (and always) be really honest.  Hey--this was a revision.  We agreed on this implant.  It seems like I got a different implant than what I wanted and I want to make this right ASAP.  Then listen to his thoughts.

Waleska you poor sweet love. Hang in there, this better get straightened out. Holy hell what a mess up. I barely have the words, due to just sheer disgust that someone could be so careless and there must be something you can do legally! The best thing is, this can be fixed. Despite the pain and suffering, this can get better and I pray that happens for you much much sooner than later, my love. Sending you so much love

  • Spoke to the surgeon today over the phone. He made it clear no revisions can be done untill 3 months which is not possible since I will have another surgery requiring crutches.

I see him in person this Wednesday and I pray he will be helpful. I'm so upset about this especially that one implant has sagged into the bottom and I can feel and see ripples. He said he is positive it is under the muscle but when I flex I feel nothing. Is it possible the implant slid from the pocket?

    • Waleska if your revision was to go from over to under and this is what you have now, then ABSOLUTELY the lower side is back in the subglandular pocket.  I would get a second opinion (in person!).  Wrong implant, not picking up on a common complication, not seeing you frequently--ALL of these are red flags.

Dr. Michelle Roughton I was able to get a second opinion today. That surgeon said it seems/feels the lower implant has caved forward a is balled into the bottom of the breast and the other has a hematoma. He said a lift should have happened since I have so much loose skin on the bottom. He was really puzzled and confused if the surgeon had in fact done a capsulectomy.😒

I am afraid my surgeon will not admit or want to correct anything.

Jesus. I have no advice but I just wanted to say I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. Both of the issues you’re dealing with have to be so disheartening. Keep us updated πŸ’œ

  • I am so frustrated for you! First off there is a price difference between the two implant types, so he owes you money at the VERY LEAST. But obviously, a revision at not cost to you would be best. As for the early dropping and no animation with flexing, I think that is normal. Your muscles aren't back to full function right now and are very strained, so you won't get the implant jump that some ppl get when they flex.

I really hope you get this resolved and soon!

  • Wow I'm sorry this is happening to you.   I would definitely not take no for answer especially if you have documents stating what was to be done and you were given the wrong implants ! If all else fails please seek legal counsel as they would have the best advice to either get your money back ( so you can go to another surgeon) or force him to fix it
