Hi! Dr. Roughton

what do you recommend your patients do to reduce capsular contracture? Singulair? Vitamin e?

      Dr. Roughton is that the same as bottoming out? I take singulair for allergies...are we talking about the same med? How would that prevent capsular contracture? Thank you!!

    • Fryedeggs hey great question.  Singulair IS the same one you already take. We think it’s based on the anti inflammatory effects (leukotriene inhibitor).  Accidental discovery by a plastic surgeon doing breast augs on women with and without asthma.  Group with asthma had less cap con. 

      Bottoming out though is different. Means your inframammary fold has given way a bit. Singulair won’t help that.
