Tuberous breasts? Do I need another revision?

I’m 10 mo post op from my revision and pretty heartbroken over my results. I know a BA will only enhance what you’ve got, but I can’t help thinking my surgeon missed the mark.

I was researching why I still have the old crease so visible. My surgeon said I could transfer fat to fill out the bottom pole and reduce the line from my old fold, and I stumbled on other people who are unhappy with their results because they had mildly tuberous breasts and their surgeon didn’t score the restricted tissue when the fold was lowered.

My implants dropped almost instantly from my initial BA (like bottomed out after two months) and I’ve always had that weird shadow from my old fold that never went away like other girls’. Now my lefty is past the scar and my surgeon promised both sides would sit perfectly in the scar with my revision with Strattice, and my nipples are at different heights. He even said something to my wife when he debriefed her after my revision that my nipples might be wonky!

Did I have tuberous breasts before and he didn’t tell me? Should the initial surgery have been done differently? It was just a standard BA, and my revision was with Strattice.

What should I do?? My surgeon said he’d reinforce the fold on the left free of charge because I’m so unhappy but I don’t trust him anymore. I can’t afford to pay for another revision, but I will if I have to. I just want pretty boobs.

  • I'm so sorry you're going through this. Yes you have bottoming out.  Not sure I would have called your breasts tuberous from picture #1 but it's a small image size and hard for me to zoom so I'll leave that as a maybe.  When you have bottoming out, your breasts fall below the fold and that's why your fold is visible.  Did he do that on purpose?  I don't know.  I would DEFINITELY get a second opinion from another surgeon (in person).  I also would be losing trust if you've already undergone one revision and this isn't close to what I would be satisfied with as a surgeon or a patient.

I would be honored to see you at my office in Raleigh, NC!

Dr. Michelle Roughton thank you, I didn’t think it was just me :/ that’s a good point about not being happy with how I look by now. I appreciate your advice, wish I was closer to NC so I could afford to come see you!

  • I’d definitely get a second opinion on this! I’m still new to this. I’m 23 days post-op. I hope you can figure out what’s going on.
