Good luck! You are going to do great! I got my period as I was changing into my operating gown, so that was annoying. I was so zonked out the next few days, I didn’t have the wherewithal to hate it like I normally do. Rest, relax, and heal up!

Ijba814 That’s exactly what happened to me. I started my period just as I was about to go into surgery. I wonder why our bodies did this.

Amyj0_99 , I know, right shrug 🤷‍♀️. And I was a day early. Stress messes with my cycle, so I figure the anxiety over the procedure just put my body into hyperdrive.

azn_sensat10n I normally use a cup, but I wasn’t going to mess with that during recovery. I just used pads.

azn_sensat10n not TMI at all! I normally use tampons but I used a pad for this occasion because I was worried about reaching over to retrieve the tampon - this was an insightful call because I could tell leaning over was a problem after surgery. Also, it's worth telling your assistant before surgery. I was worried I was gonna bleed on the operating table in an unexpected place lol. She was so sweet and actually put a new pad in my underwear when I left!! I was groggy and forgot so she thought ahead for me. Bless her heart.

ivy2019 good call on the pads! Lol i didn’t even think of that! I was totally thinking tampons would be a challenge but that’s about where my thought process ended;) azn_sensat10n not tmi!!! Thank you for asking!!!

  • I’m supposed to be on my period during surgery.. dec 6!! Did you girls tell the doctor? I’m having mommy makeover which is longer procedure so I’m thinking they’ll give me a catheter,,, ugh! I don’t want them to have to go down there!

ELA they’re doctors! I seriously doubt menstrual blood is the grossest thing they will see even during your surgery! Don’t fret 💜

ELA , I let the nurse know just in case I started leaking, and they were wondering what the heck was going on, 😂. She thanked me for the heads up and like Finallytiddies said, said that they see it all the time.

ELA I told my regular Dr and she had me go on the pill so I could make sure and not be on my period at that time.  It makes so much more sense to have it when you have a little more flexability to deal with girly issues.
