Hi I’m 8 weeks post op and my nipples are still numb. How long does that typically lasts?

  • So it can be permanent but almost always isn't.  Little nerves get cut and/or stretched during surgery and they can grow back but it takes weeks to months. At best, the nerves can grow 1mm/day.  Now what's even cooler is that if a nerve just can't grow back, the nerves adjacent to it will fill in it's territory to some extent.  That takes months to years.  So try and be patient and keep the faith!  :)

I would be honored to see you at my office in Raleigh, NC!
