Post op bra

So I thought I would share what I have discovered in “sports”/post op bras for me. This is something I really struggled with which ones to buy for me, so hopefully this will help someone.

my stats: 5’9, 170, 445 moderate profile, under muscle, my incision is in lower fold (right around bra line)

the first photo is the post op bra they gave me at the hospital, it is really comfortable, but the lines make it hard to wear with anything but a sweatshirt with out it showing through. The second is from Walmart, it ran about $7 on sale, it was great for after my incisions healed for a 2 weeks and gave me more versatility in shirts I could wear. The third one I got off amazon (see following photo), it’s not terrible for $20, but I do t think the straps on top go up tight enough for me to feel secure, and it isn’t as compressed like it looks in the photos, I would send back if I wasn’t out of the return window. The fifth photo is one of my favs, it has awesome compression, stretched down far enough that it didn’t bother my incisions and just over all really comfy for me, the down fall is the front that is roughed shower through shirts, but worth the money.  The last photo is one my doc said other patients really liked, it was really scratchy and not really comfortable for me, but that’s just my opinion.

i hope this helps someone!!!

  • It’s funny how we all vary so much bc I got 2 of  the last one (included with my surgery) and I Love it! I’m over 5mpo and still wear it to bed every night.

I got some similar ones at wal mart that are a tad scratchy but I like them as well. They are cotton.

I did struggle with wearing anything cute bc of the strap but luckily I had my surgery in cooler weather so by summer I was in normal bras :)

Im glad you tried a variety and are able to share your opinions, it’s always helpful.
