Husband seeing boobs during recovery

This question is for ladies whose husbands helped them recover:

How did you feel about him seeing your new boobs when they werent comp;etely healed? I'm afraid of scaring him and him not being able to see them the same once they are healed.

Thank you!!

  • Why are you afraid of that? I'm not doing mine until December but that's probably the last thing on my mind. Although I can totally understand. That's like after we were first married and I gave birth. Lol. Which luckily he did not care to see, so he stayed up by my head (rather than down there watching that crazy mess).

Anyway I ask because I'm sure he loves you, and if you focus on that instead it may help. Unless he's the kind of guy that cares how you look and it better be perfect. If that's the case......oh hell no, you deserve better.

    • B. Kind Yes, I was comparing this to the birthing stories. The doctors have told the fathers they should probably not look down there. I figured this might be the same... This was just my thought process and nothing to do with my husband making me feel any type of way. I just didnt want to freak him out. Thanks for your reply. :)

Erika Elise good, I'm glad to hear that. Sometimes you never know... the types of guys that snag a wife. Lol. I totally can understand that thought process because I felt the same (with birth, that he'd never see my vagina the same way again)! Lol.

  • I gave my hubs the heads up that my boobs would look funky at first and showed him a lot of different frankenboob post op pics. Since he knew what to expect i wasnt uncomfortable showing him at all. The first couple weeks when they were high and tight we would actually poke them and laugh at how firm they were! He was like "id motor boat them, but im scared they would break my nose!" πŸ˜‚

Forgot to add, i mostly told him what to expect so that he could reassure me to be patient when/if i were to freak out during early recovery. I knew i would need his support emotionally and wanted to prep him for that.

    • Katelyn haha! Thanks for the story. I did not even think to show him what some look like after. That's such a great idea! I just didnt want to freak him out. He has not been involved with my research of the whole process so I figured does not to expect that.

Katelyn excellent idea!! I will start doing the same thing. I could see him going, "uh I didn't think this was a good idea, you should've listened to me". Lol.

  • I have surgery in one week and I have completely prepared mine by showing him plenty of frankenboob pictures lol. Then I show him my desired end result so he knows the wait will be worth it πŸ˜‡πŸ˜‡ although, at this point I’ve showed him SO MANY pictures of boobs im not sure they will even phase him anymore πŸ˜‚

  • I also prepared mine by showing him photos of immediate post op and drop and fluff over time so he was prepared. I don’t think it’s practical for you to try to avoid him seeing them.

  • I guess I didn’t even think twice about showing my husband. He was so scared to touch them in fear of hurting me.

We peeked at them the night of my surgery and he said β€œThey are big, you have boobs now” We talked about how swollen and tight my skin was and he never freaked out one bit.

  • While recovering, I am going to let my husband wash my hair and shave my legs if need be, so he will be seeing them for sure.. lol. I did show him a frankenboob pic as a warning, and to prepare him. ;)

  • Try and prepare him ahead of time to not expect perfection at first. Mine knew this and he actually helped keep me calm when I would get discouraged with how long it was taking to get to that point! LOL But mine did have more of an issue seeing me in discomfort or at least thinking I was. He did get light headed and have to sit down the first time he seen them bandaged up and some blood soaked gauze covering nipples. β€οΈ
