Lifting limit

Hi,

I have not had a consultation yet but wanted to check here first, how long do PS advise not to lift anything heavy post BA? I have a young toddler who is not mobile due to a medical condition and this is one thing I’m worried about, not being able to pick her up for a certain amount of time.

Thanks for your time!

  • You'll be sore if you have implants under the muscle.  Every surgeon is different but ideally you'll take a week or so to yourself without having to lift anything heavier than 5 or so pounds.  It's more for your comfort than your ability to hurt anything.  I advise folks to avoid pec-specific exercises for 6 weeks (push ups, pull-ups, or planks) but I've never seen any data on that, just makes sense to me. Best of luck!

I would be honored to see you at my office in Raleigh, NC!

My ps said the same as dr roughton, it won’t hurt your implants but what’s really important is no pushing/pulling. Even vacuuming. It could affect the pockets
