Worried I have Symastia/skin tenting?

Hello!

Wondering if you could possibly look at these photos and give me your opinion please?

I am about 8 months post op... and I have had a love/hate relationship with my new breasts. I hated them to start with but then when they started to drop and fluff but were still a bit swollen I loved them. But now I hate them again. I am so disappointed with how horrible they look.

They do not have any cleavage, even when I use a very thick push up bra there is still little cleavage. I may as well had not had a breast augmentation as there is no shape or upper pole there. Which is odd because I had high profile and round implants.

I have done some research and I believe I may have ‘skin tenting’ or symastia which is preventing me from having cleavage and pulling the skin in between my breasts ‘upwards’ and is tight.

The space in between my breasts feels thick and if I push it down with my fingers my breasts have more of an outline which looks better. When I’m in a bra the area between my breasts sticks out (as you can see in the photos) My nipples also point outwards.

I have no shape to my breasts!

I’d love to see what you think! Thank you ☺️ X

(I tried to get photos showing it as best as I could from different angles. The ones in the swimsuits I have had to put bronzer on in an attempt to get some cleavage! I have used my finger in some photos to push the middle part down. )

  • Hey! I have 325cc HP smooth round mentor silicone as well! I am having a revision due to one bottoming out & I’m also going to go larger. I realllllly dislike the size. I started with nothing as well. & I have no cleavage as well 🙄 . I must say, through all the post I see this a lot, petite girls going with 300cc range because they are afraid of being too big (which was me!) & then end having another surgery to go bigger. I wish I would have known & had a PS that would look at my wish pictures so we could have talked about size but he didn’t. I’m still really early in, almost 4 months. Planning on a revision March 2020! Hope this helps 🙃

  • I’m sorry you’re not happy with them! I can totally relate. I had my original surgery in October 2017. They settled with no middle cleavage or upper pole and I HATED them. They were Inspira 450 mod+ silicone unders. I got a revision October 1 this year, and got everything I wanted that I missed out on first time around. I went with Mentor 595 UHP Silicone overs. It’s still early, but I’m happy 100 times over. The first picture is the day before my revision, second is two weeks post op this time.

Katie Lynn They look brilliant now! 😍 I’ll need to start saving up, I couldn’t afford to get a revision just yet but I have emailed my surgeon to request an appointment to discuss. I’m so upset that my only option is to pay for another augmentation 💔 this isn’t how I thought I’d feel afterwards, I thought I’d feel so much more confident and in love with my new boobs!

  • I am sorry you are dealing with this. Your pics and what you describe is the issue i had after my first surgery and what i mainly had a revision for in March ( in addition to other issue) . My implants were too close and the skin in the middle was lifted off my sternum. My nipples pointed out instead of forward. Luckily my repair went amazing and they are perfect now- the issues were corrected. However it is a tough repair to do so if you go that route find a surgeon that specializes. I traveled to a specialist and it was a long and expensive repair- he had to use strattice to keep the implant pockets separate. What has your surgeon said about your concerns? Good luck and keep us updated!

Dahlia I’m happy for you! Looks like we had the same experience. I have emailed my surgeon to request an appointment with him to discuss my options. I’m from the UK and I can’t find any here that specialise on Google. ☹️But I will ask my surgeon. Thank you! Xx

  • I don't think it's synmastia except for in the black bathing suit shot, I can't be sure it is.  Limitation of internet I suppose.  Those under breast creases you like are partly what you are born with. Some women have a very deep crease and others less so.  As your implants drop/age, you'll develop more crease. I like your cleavage in the pink tank top but to each their own. Your implants are still a bit high, let them drop some would be my recommendation.  I would wait at least a year before any revision.  Best of luck!

I would be honored to see you at my office in Raleigh, NC!

Dr. Michelle Roughton Thank you for your reply. I’ll give it a few more months until I reach the one year mark then and in the mean time book to see my surgeon.

Are there any ways that I could help them drop more or help with the skin tenting? Or would the only possibility to solve it be a revision?

    • Lauren I know of nothing to expedite it.  Massage maybe.  Do you happen to have highly cohesive/gummy bear implants?  Those take longer to drop.
