Copper Scissors Well.. I haven't had my BA yet... I'll have it done on Thursday but, I've read many posts on here where women discuss having more pain on one side than the other, so it appears to be very common.

And thank you.. I had a really good day.. spent the day cleaning the house, running errands and meal prepping for after surgery. My mother insisted on caring for me after surgery so I'm fortunate to be able to stay with her for the first week... but when I come home after my 1 week post op appointment on the 26th, I'll be alone as well.

What tips do you have for those that are going through this alone?

  • Copper Scissors you are a champ! I am impressed by you! I hope your pain is down tomorrow! I am 14 days post op today, its been my experience that the pain gets less every day! I would say, if your one side is getting worse, call your Dr- they should be happy to help! I was/still am much tighter and higher on my right side. But no pain anymore. I am in a tight sports bra 24/7 and it feels much better to have them held in- as opposed to when i take a shower...

  • Hi Bobbie, I did the BA on my own. Today is my 8 day postop. My recovery is extremely easy I have to say. So what you need is get ready before you go to your BA. Do your chores, fill up your pastry and fridge. Get your cups, plates on your stomach level. Ensure a lot of pillows! I am stomach sleeper, what helped me was a pillow under each arm when sleeping.  Make your socks, pjs, sweats, undies reachable. Have your remotes, liquids, chargers, books, paper tissues easy to get while resting in bed. Rest a lot!  Have your towels and small towels and hugiene products reachable. However! Do not leave the clinic on your own! Heavy doors, using key may be difficult :-) let me know if I can help you! But take me as an example, I really wish such a smooth recovery as I an experiencing.
